FAVOURITE NOVEL

Favourite noVel~

‘A child called It’ written by Dave Pelzer is talk about a boy named Dave Pelzer that was born into a cruel and demanding family, one of which was controlled by one very powerful and abusive women in the state which is his mother. His father was a great person, he went to great lengths to try and help Dave, but as the story progressed it was made clear that really, he was just as bad as Dave’s mother. Dave was beaten senseless for the most ridiculous ‘CRIMES’ that he did not commit. he would work slave labour for an emotionally unstable, alcoholic person, who had no respect for anyone but herself and apparently no heart or feelings. It was heartbreaking to know that there are people out there who beat their children over break ups, alcohol and drugs, when they have so many numerous options to go for, instead of resorting to violence - used on their own kids. This novel shows the courage and bravery of one kid and how he alone managed to mentally pull himself together; so much so that he became the man he is today. I read it many times for it was very descriptive of what he went through. I couldn’t put the book down, it was brilliant! Even though it was horrific, this book is the best i have ever read! I enjoyed this book because it's impossible to believe that anyone can treat their children the way Dave's mother treats him. It's amazing to see how Dave was abused as a child and was able to turn his life around. Dave Pelzer shows his dignity and courage when he writes of his horrific and violent involved childhood and yet doesn’t abuse his mother.

I love this book.
